Botox & Dermal Fillers – Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are aesthetic treatments?
Aesthetic treatments are non-surgical procedures designed to enhance your natural appearance. They can improve skin texture, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, restore volume, and create a fresher, more youthful look - all without the need for invasive surgery.
2. What types of treatments do you offer?
We provide a wide range of options, including:
3. What’s the difference between anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers?
4. How do I know which treatment is right for me?
Every face and skin type is unique. That’s why we always recommend a consultation before treatment. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your goals, assess your skin, and create a personalised treatment plan that’s safe and effective for you.
5. Are aesthetic treatments safe?
When performed by a trained medical professional, aesthetic treatments are considered very safe. We only use licensed products and techniques, and we’ll explain any potential risks or side effects so you feel fully informed before proceeding.
6. How long do results last?
This depends on the treatment:
7. Will I look “overdone” or unnatural?
Not at all. Our approach is subtle and natural - the goal is to enhance your features, not change them. Most people will notice you look fresher, not that you’ve “had work done.”
8. Is there any downtime?
Most treatments involve minimal downtime. You may experience slight redness, swelling, or bruising, which usually settles within a few days. We’ll provide full aftercare advice so you know what to expect.
9. What should I consider before having treatment?
10. Can I combine treatments?
Yes. In fact, many patients benefit from a combination approach, such as treating three areas (crows feet, frown lines and forehead lines). We’ll guide you on what will work best together.
11. What do I need to do to prepare for the appointment?
You will have clear, tailored instructions before your appointment.
12. How long will the appointment last?
Most treatments take between 30–60 minutes, depending on the procedure and whether it’s your first visit. We’ll allow time to discuss your goals, review your medical history, and answer any questions.
13. What happens after treatment?
You can usually return to your normal activities straight away. Some treatments may cause mild redness, swelling, or tenderness, which settles within a few days. We’ll provide full aftercare advice so you know exactly what to expect. You will be given the option to come back into the clinic to see Dr Rhea for a follow-up, should you need it.
14. When will I see results?
We’ll explain timelines for your chosen treatment in detail during your appointment.
15. When should I call if I’m worried about something?
Your safety is our top priority. You should contact us right away if you experience anything unexpected, such as severe pain, excessive swelling, skin discolouration or symptoms that don’t match your aftercare guidance. Our team is always here to support you.
16. How do I book a consultation?
You can book using the button below, or contact our friendly team directly via phone, email, or through our website. Consultations are relaxed, confidential, and designed to give you all the information you need before making a decision.
Other FAQs
1. Will it hurt?
You may feel a small pinching or stinging sensation. A fine needle or cannula is used, and numbing cream or local anaesthetic can be applied for comfort (especially for fillers).
2. How often will I need Botox?
Most people repeat treatment every 3–4 months to maintain results, however it is very much an individual preference. We generally advise repeat treatment when you notice the deeper lines appearing again.
3. What if I don’t like the filler result?
Dermal filler treatment is temporary and will naturally dissolve over 6-9 months depending on the type of filler used. If you are seeking a quicker remedy, then most hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, if necessary.
4. How often will I need fillers?
This varies by area and product, but most clients repeat treatment every 6–9 months.
